WELCOME TO THE RYDE BEACH ACCESSIBILITY
Please note that the chairs are not supplied with a harness, as they need to be individually fitted for each user. We therefore recommend that users bring their own.
Ryde Town Council and Partners are delighted to offer a range of beach and sea equipment to make Ryde Beach more accessible to all. Our facilities include a beautiful boardwalk, a seasonal Changing Places, specialised sea and beach wheelchairs, and a convenient sand rollator. We hope these amenities enhance your experience, allowing you to enjoy the beach and the sea to the fullest.

PLEASE NOTE:
- Sea wheelchair will not be available at low tide.
- This equipment will be available from 1 July to 30 August and available for collection from Lifeguard station located on North walk. (what3words salt.olive.lift)
- Lifeguards are on duty 1100-1700 and will have your equipment ready to collect.
- Accessible changing places available at Eastern Gardens Toilets with a hoist from 10 July to 30 August. Users will be required to provide their own sling.

Mobi-Chair Floating Beach Wheelchair
Mobi floating beach wheel chair is an excellent innovative product designed for all wheelchair users. This high quality beach wheelchair can be used for travel on boardwalk, the beach and in the water. Known for its convenience, portability and comfort, the Mobi-Chair® provides entertainment along with comfort to the user.
This chair is for use strictly on the beach located within the area patrolled by the lifeguards. Furthermore a responsible adult will need to supervise for safety reasons.
Hippocampe Beach Wheelchair
Robust and extremely stable the Hippocampe all-terrain beach wheelchair is light and robust. Suitable for any age from 2-102 you can now enjoy a whole new world of opportunities.
Wheeleez Beach Rollator
The Wheeleez All-Terrain Rollator is specifically designed to navigate all the challenging off-road terrains… soft sand, mud, gravel, grass, rocks, cobblestones. The wider Wheeleepolyurethane wheels allow you a safer more stable base to walk with, giving you added confidence to experience the great outdoors with ease.
Stabilo Positioning Cushion inflatable support for wheelchairs
Stabilo Confortable Plus Duo is a positioning cushion from the Stabilo vaccum support range. It incorporates a seat, back, lateral supports and headrest. Stabilo is a system of stabilising cushions and mattresses based on vacuum fixation of the modelled shape. A special pump allows air to be sucked out of the Stabilo, which makes the cushion harder while maintaining its shape. Stabilo is designed for people who need additional support to maintain their posture in sitting and lying down and works to compensate for body asymmetry or muscle weaknees.
Sandcruiser Beach Wheelchair
Sandcruiser beach wheelchair is fully equipped with quality WheelEEZ PU balloon wheels which are specifically designed to navigate challenging terrains like soft sand.
DeBug with floating pontoons Beach Wheelchair
Enjoy dipping your toes in the sand AND feeling the spray of the surf. Equipped with WheelEEZ Wheels, the EZ Roller virtually floats across the sand to the water and when fitted with the optional floating pontoon attachments it floats in the water too. Because of the castering front wheel, turning the EZ Roller is a breeze and it’s not necessary to tilt back the chair to turn!

Sandpiper beach wheelchair is fully equipped with quality WheelEEZ PU balloon wheels which are specifically designed to navigate challenging terrains like soft sand
